Scholastic 2018-2019 Several St. Paul art students have received notification that their artwork has been selected for the annual Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska Exhibition. Artwork is submitted from schools across the state and the quality of this artwork is of the highest standards.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation's youth and has provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated since 1923. Teens that participate in this program become a part of our community. These young artists are a part of our able to celebrate the creative process and this allows them to understand how important the arts are in their well-rounded education. There were approximately 3,800 entries from the state of Nebraska with only the very best selected for honors. St. Paul students St. Paul students received 2 Silver Keys and 8 honorable mentions awards. This year's entries were amazing and they are the result of each student's hard work and dedication to their creativity. "All the students involved in the Scholastic competition and int he art program here in St. Paul are a wonderful and talented group," said St. Paul's art instructor, Cathy Lemmerman. The exhibition will be held at the Omaha Public Schools TAC Building, located on 3215 Cumming St., in Omaha, NE. The exhibit will be open to the public from February 26th - March 29th, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. - to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, and then 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays. If you have the opportunity to visit this exhibit, you will not be disappointed with the amount of fantastic artwork. Students receiving awards will be honored at a ceremony in Omaha, on March 2nd, 2-19
