Scholastic 2020-2021 Several St. Paul art students have received notification that their artwork has been selected for the annual Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska Exhibition. Artwork is submitted from schools across the state and the quality of this artwork is of the highest standards.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation's youth and has provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated since 1923. Teens that participate in this program become a part of our community. These young artists are a part of our able to celebrate the creative process and this allows them to understand how important the arts are in their well-rounded education. There were approximately 2,200 entries from the state of Nebraska with only the very best selected for honors. St. Paul students St. Paul students received 1 Silver Key and 5 honorable mentions awards. This year's entries were amazing and they are the result of each student's hard work and dedication to their creativity. "All the students involved in the Scholastic competition and int he art program here in St. Paul are a wonderful and talented group," said St. Paul's art instructor, Cathy Lemmerman. Students receiving awards will be honored at a ceremony in the Big Gym, on April 29th
Mrs. Lemmerman also congratulated all of the participating students for a job well done. This is a tough competition and you should all be very proud of your achievements.
